About the project
New construction of two apartment buildings of 15 and 7 floors respectively with a total of 106 apartments in the new area of Godisfabriken in Gävle.
The developer, AB Gavlegårdarna, hired Arkitektgruppen in Gävle, who, together with partner Pomeroy Studio in Singapore, designed the two buildings. The ambition of the project was to design sustainable buildings that strengthen the area and contribute to an attractive district.
From 1916 and almost 100 years later, sweets were manufactured in the area between Södra Strandgatan, Styrmansgatan and Tredje Tvärgatan. Godisfabriken is the collective name for all the houses, streets and parks that are now being built in the area. Buildings from the industrial age are saved and given new uses. 750 homes, both rental properties and condominiums, are planned together with cafes, business premises, a preschool and a parking garage. Great focus is on building with high environmental and sustainability requirements.
